I haven’t done much in the way of music or album reviews before, I know. But since this is a travel blog, it would make sense to include one when applicable. Take your ears on a vacation for once.
The music in question is a recent album from the Choir of Gonville and Caius College Cambridge, possibly the most English chorale group imaginable. Yes, this program offers another one of their chorale offerings, but it is far from familiar. Instead of the usual selections from Catholic traditions, you will hear a distinct twist in the form of Brazilian Chorale Music which, as Allmusic’s James Manheim writes, “is all but unknown outside Brazil”. The dissonance is delicious, and the harmonies of the angelic voices are interspersed at times with sounds from the Amazon Rainforest. Words cannot convey how amazing this work is, so you must hear it for yourself. Check the link below.
