2019 is the perfect time to dust off your luggage, grab your passport and head to an airport. Most Americans will let their vacation go unused this year because they think they do not have the time or it’s too late to plan a trip. Regardless if you want to head to an island, a foreign country or the mountains, there is a new travel destination out there for you. Below are just some of the top picks for travel in 2019.

Alberta, Canada

Book and architecture lovers should make a stop at the Calgary Central Library to view the 460 white hexagonal panels of the Snøhetta. If you’re looking for something that will allow you some additional relaxation time, the Kananaskis Nordic Spa, boasts hydrotherapy pools, salt exfoliation cabins and eucalyptus steam rooms at the foot of the Canadian Rockies.

Andaman Islands
Strung between India and Thailand, the remote Andaman Islands are perfect for a secluded getaway. The Havelock Island, the only island open to the public, allows visitors to enjoy crystal clear water, tropical fruits, and unspoiled sandy beaches. Guests of the island can enjoy kayaking through mangroves, hiking in the forest, and tanning on the beach. The Andaman Islands are still under development but go now before that changes!

The Florida Keys
The Keys are rebounding after Hurricane Irma ripped the islands to pieces in 2018. Guests of the Keys can explore the island by bikes or foot and enjoy some of the sites that make Key West an American literary capital. The Old Town Literary Walking Tour takes visitors to Ernest Hemingway and Elizabeth Bishop’s stomping grounds and through some of the best local lit-scene locations. Stop by Books & Books while you’re in town and keep an eye out for owner and author Judy Blume!

Costa Rica
The Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica is where the beach meets the jungle coastline. Located in the northwestern corner of the country, it’s recently become a tourist hotspot. The province’s small surf towns offer world-class swells all year if you are looking to ride the waves. There is also an electric bike-share program and fresh, new dining concepts to try. The province also has newly updated hotels and resorts that offer views of the town and are the perfect place to settle down after a long day of exploring the town and participating in outdoor activities.
